Afoxe originates from Ijexa, a rhythm played in religious ceremonies of tribes transported to Brazil as slaves in colonial times. Afoxe is often described as Ijexa without the religion.

At the end, of the file, I have let the bell pattern run on, to help new bell players recognise where they start playing again after the break.
