Sao Joao runs straight out of our Samba Reggae.(Not mass perform reggae) Our samba reggae is the first rhythm we play at our workshops.
Sao Joao is signalled with an arm extended horizontally to the right. Everyone shouts “Bay batucada” and then starts playing Sao Joao

This is the pattern played throughout. No signal for entry – Start up happens via call from Repenique.
We now play Maxixe straight after Ijexa. i.e they are a combined arrangement
Bells start playing on their own after exit from Ijexa. Then the Repenique brings the band in with entry riff.
